Primary Function:

To distribute and facilitate all incoming and outgoing mail and supplies including delivery of USPS, FedEx along with Inter-Departmental mail.

Working Environment: Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Physical Requirements:

Heavy Work: The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently, often for extended periods. You may need to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. The job may also involve a significant amount of walking or standing relative to sedentary roles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to all SAO staff distributing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Receive and distribute supplies to all 26th street divisions, various offices, Felony Trial wings, all outlying branch courts and suburban court houses
  • Twice daily, receive and distribute all mail (inter-office, USPS, UPS, and FedEx) to divisions and units inside 26th street SAO and other 26th street agencies
  • Collect and sort all mail for delivery scheduled to outside offices
  • Maintain supply and inventory of necessary office equipment in mail/supply room
  • Maintain supplies and equipment in the Felony Trial wings
  • Monitor mail meter machine
  • Serve as alternate coverage for a.m. and p.m. mail and supply delivery routes
  • Work flexible hours as needed
  • Interacts regularly with State’s Attorney’s Office Employees
  • Regular access to confidential information
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required:

  • The candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word applications preferred.
