Working Environment: Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Primary Function:

To provide administrative support to the Assistant State’s Attorneys assigned to the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.

Physical Requirements:

Light Work: The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently, often for extended periods. You may need to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. The job may also involve a significant amount of walking or standing relative to sedentary roles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer general questions from the public and provide the proper information and resources.
  • Time date stamp and initial all incoming mail / packages.
  • Type subpoenas, motions, answers and other correspondence as required.
  • Input all discovery requests through NICE.
  • Proofread and sort documents.
  • File all necessary paperwork.
  • Answer phone, transfer to appropriate individual and take messages.
  • Prepare dispositions.
  • Type information, indictments and arraignment letters
  • Run time sensitive, confidential criminal background checks/reports.
  • Enter and update case information in CRIMES and other various databases.
  • Make copies, mail, scan, fax, and email documents.
  • Prepare expungements.
  • Sort and distribute mail.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information and systems.
  • Interact with State’s Attorney’s Office employees and personnel of outside agencies.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • The candidate must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel applications required.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of SharePoint, CRIMES, I-Clear, LEADS, and Clerks
  • Knowledge of trial preparation and evidence handling.
  • Typing speed of 50+ wpm.
